School's out for SUMMER!

It feels like I have waited for these days for so long...  The first days of summer- Last year I was pregnant and summer wasn't nearly as enjoyable as those of the past.  Now, I do realize I was on maternity leave for the first half of the year, but if you had met any of my little darlings you would understand why I was literally counting the days until now.  Woohoo!  I have so many plans for this summer.  To-do lists, fun projects and of course, so many firsts with Landry.  Oh what fun we will have!

I want to go to the beach, the zoo, put Landry in swimming lessons, clean out closets, paint, learn how to make bows, possibly sew, and the list goes on...  More than anything I am thrilled about having so much extra time with Landry.  She is a bundle of joy and every moment with her is an absolute thrill!  We are so blessed to have our little girl.

Beach Day!

On Labor Day Weekend we loaded up and headed down to Galveston with a group of friends.  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed every minute of it!  We drove down early and stayed late.  This was a real treat!  We weren't quite sure how long Ms. Landry could handle the sand and surf but Gretchen and Joe came prepared with a tent.  What a lifesaver that thing was.  Landry was able to play in the sand, splish splash in the water with her sweet little friends and feel the wind in her crazy, curly hair.  She had a blast, and then she took a long nap!  This gave all of the grown ups time to relax and enjoy the day.  We all had so much fun.  This was just the first of many beach trips...
More pics to come!

Sweet Landry

Landry is getting so big... Almost 9 months old, and she is a pistol!  This girl is into everything.  She is crawling all over the place and pulling up on just about anything.  She can even stand solo for a few minutes but hasn't made the move to walk on her own yet.  At school they are already talking about moving her up to the big girl class. I have no doubt that within a few weeks if not before she will be all out walking.  I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that just yet..  She is growing up too fast!  Yesterday she was a tiny infant.  Where has the time gone?  Every day it is something new.  Foods, sounds, facial expressions, teeth!  So many new and exciting things.

My, how things change...

I remember the days when I was counting down for the weekend so that I could get all dolled up and hit the town with my girls. What fun we had.  Always margaritas at El Tiempo before dancing the night away, followed by a day in the sun before we did it all over again.  It was our thing.   These days I am still counting down, but the weekends mean so much more than I ever thought they could.  Family, Fun, and Relaxation.  What?  Am I getting old or something?  It is Friday night and our little family is hanging out at home.  The excitement tonight revolves around Landry's 8 month pictures, ( in the backyard, even though she is 8 months and 3 weeks old) take-out, and Blue Bloods.  Party Animals, right??  My idea of fun has certainly changed over the past few years but I wouldn't change a thing!

How time flies when you are with the one that you love...

It is hard to believe that four years ago today I married the love of my life.  Jake is the most loving, wonderful man I have ever met.  I can't imagine my life had I not met him.  There is a country song out now that talks about a man and his wife having a conversation about their relationship.  She asks what his life would be like without her.  He goes on to say he would probably do alot more fishing, watching football, etc. but he would always be looking for a woman like her.  Funny way of going about it but sweet nonetheless and so true.  It seemed like I would never meet the right guy until I met Jake.   How crazy is it that he was a guy that I went to high school with and never even knew.  All those years he was right under my nose and I didn't even know.  It wasn't until I stalked him at our school district's convocation that I realized he was the Jake I had heard of.  Afterall, we shared so many friends.  How did we not know one another??  So- with the help of our old friend Will and a few phone calls Jake and I were on our first date at Mamacita's.  That was a safe bet- we could have a margarita and chat it up.  If it was like all of our other dates we could call it a night after a drink.  Nope- not this date.  Jake and I shut down the place.  We talked and talked for hours on end.  From then on we were inseperable.  Gosh, I love that man!!! He is my soulmate and my best friend in the whole wide world.  Yep- I'm blessed, so very blessed.
